The Little Things....

Publicerad 2015-04-08 04:08:13 i Allmänt,

Something that I have notice since I moved down here is how many thing one take for granted. Like even the smalled most stupidest thing like paper or being able to eat game. Its also got me thinking: "wow am I really that attached to my family?!" Because most of the things I miss/took for granted were often provided by my parents. Now do not take me wrong I am not spoiled, I did my share to get where I am now. But ya know just the little things you do not think about.

Now you must think; "what you mean with paper?" Well my Dads work involves working with paper and pulp and all that. And now thinking about it we never had to buy things like printing paper, warping paper sometimes even toilet paper. There was always paper samples Dad brought home.

Im only bringing paper up because I need to get some for the printer and I was thinking how much do you pay for a stack of paper? What quality? I think I cant get top notch paper for cheap, right? Dad just bring me some paper!

Another thing that I noticed both me and Russie were kinda taking for granted is game and home kill, especially venison. I notice how much its made an impact in my life when we had to buy our own meat from the supermarket. Man do I feel guilty. Because I started thinking about where the meat comes from, how well have th animals beat treated and what is actually in the meat.

Coming from a family where we very often had game and home kill I always knew where the animal came from and how it was treated. I felt guilt free. Now yes I will get crap from animal activists etc say how can you call yourself cruelty free and eat meat?! Well let me tell thee my reasoning behind it! When you are hunting the animal still has a fair chance of getting away just like it would if another animal would be hunting it. NO both me and my Dad (which is the actual hunter in the family) condone Heli-Hunting, or places where they keep the animals in huge enclosure then you pay as insurance that you will get one animal. Well they just point out where the animal is. So there is no hunt at all! There is not fair chance for the animal.

When the animal live in the wild you know its had a good free life, but what about home kill? This is where you would either do your own or let the farmer do it and in our case we are still friends with the farmer. We know how he treats the animals the they live a really good life. While buying it in store you know fuck all!  This really bothers me.

My reasoning behind thinking its ok to eat home kill and game is ok but store bought meat is not so much comes down to I still in a some way think that the human was made a hunter I mean look at the cave man. But I am not happy how the "hunting" if you can even call that has evolved. Mass production! Not cool!

Ugh God! This whole post just turned into something else then I thought from the start but meh its all been on my mind,
